From the elevated position at the side of the Clubhouse,
the opening hole offers a lovely panoramic view of the magnificent Ochil
Hills. The first tee shot is never easy, but a fairly generous fairway
should improve your confidence. Stray too far right or left and danger
lurks. Worse still, scuffle your ball down the hill and the ditch awaits.
The green is tucked away in the left-hand corner and is well protected
by a bunker on the right and if you play short and left, the ball will
roll menacingly into the semi-rough.
A compact green should present no real putting problems - but it is
the first! |
