Hole 17 - Pond's Wood - Par 4/5

This hole should be renamed the ditch hole! A very inviting drive towards the Wallace Monument and you've left yourself a long, but straightforward shot to the green tucked away in the left hand corner. To the unsuspecting, this appears to hold no fears, but beware, running along the entire front of the green a ditch awaits. Now, this changes the hole significantly. Do you be brave and try and carry the ditch, or do you play short of the ditch and rely on a accurate pitch onto the green. The choice is yours. Suffice to say that last season, this hole scored continuously highest above par for the whole course. Now that tells you something!
